making our own path

as per usual, the best adventures are when you get lost on your way to something rather than getting to your destination. in our case it was both.

navigating the transit system of barcelona is relatively easy. even when we were given the wrong transfer bus number by our hostel, we were still able to find the right bus to take us up to "Gaudi´s Park" (it's not really called that, but it's a big park with a bunch of Gaudi's creations). a very nice local informed us of where we should get off which we of course listened to his wisdom.

it may not have been the best, most reliable advice around, but it brought us to the top of a hill with a look out over Barcelona, it brought us to a small bakery with homemade pizza bread for lunch, and it finally brought us to the back side of the park allowing us to descend from the top, discovering each of Gaudi's structures bit by bit with the main plaza as the finalé rather than approaching from the front which would have required an uphill trek after we had already seen the headliner piece.

so the moral of the story is: always take the advice of strangers, even if they have no idea what they're talking about. the adventure is most definitely worth it.

now on to somport pass where we will start our walk!
